Squish toy sends teen to hospital with burns
A West Virginia family is warning other parents after a popular squishy toy exploded inside a hot car, burning their 13-year-old daughter.
Doctors say the toy's silicone filling wasn't toxic, but the heated material caused painful burns when it ruptured. Burn specialists are also warning about a viral trend involving microwaving squishy toys and reminding families never to leave them in hot vehicles.
Experts say if a burn occurs, cool the area with running water for about 20 minutes and avoid home remedies like mayonnaise, mustard, or egg whites.
