Farmer says CA late-summer monsoon rains would threaten crops
A burst of summer rain might sound like welcome relief in the Central Valley, but for some growers it can arrive at the worst possible time.
The Kirschenmann Brothers Farm has been in business in Shafter for 45 years. Derric Kirschenmann, a fourth-generation farmer who helps run the farm with his family, said monsoonal weather during the summer can threaten key crops, especially grapes and almonds.
